Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.
X3. can you measure the shock body (just the tube) and compare with someone else?

possible the shocks are for a new gen?

I installed mine inverted from the way yours are. I called Wheelers and they told me that these shocks are a drop in replacement. There must then be sag as you were told. It was a mystery for me too. We went to the trouble of even measuring the shocks to see if there was a problem there. Perhaps this is an issue with Double cab trucks?

Two things that you are probably already aware of:
    • There is a left and right side for these shocks.
The long side is I think the drivers side (US).
    • There is the potential for the leaf to hit the shock tube in
heavy use. There is a mod where the shock mount can be built out
an inch or so laterally from the position it is in now.
You know another thing that doesn't add up? Why would Wheeler's not be familiar with this issue with as many shock sets as they sell for this particular truck?

Bump stops might be something that you will want later. They rest on top of the axle and come into play when you are hauling something heavy enough to cause your axle to come into contact with your frame.
Bumpstops would not apply to this issue though.

I don't know why it was recommended to you not to go with the AAL pack for your truck. Mine were designed and manufactured by Wheeler's and Alcan and sold by Wheeler's Offroad and they work great.

I have had my truck since 20K miles and have not done any major hauling with it. Therefore I haven't put a great deal of wear on the original leaf springs. Perhaps the complete spring change might be the way to go but it is pretty expensive comparatively.
$600 at the outset for the complete change. (staly away from Deaver if you do go this way though)

The AAL that I put on my truck was only about $160 shipped and the results are excellent. I considered putting new leaf packs on but after talking it over with Jason at Wheeler's I decided to go with his advice and install the AAL kit.

I want to point out that with the add a leaf kit, the overload springs are designed to be removed. This was a big point of contention with my installer and while it is true that they can be left in, it is not a good idea to do so.
The point was made that if you leave the overload springs in then you might as well just add blocks because you lose the progressive feature of the AAL pack.
I know I have already posted some this stuff once in this thread but I wanted to do so again because I am hoping that some of you guys will respond with your thoughts on leaving the overload springs in.
