Price on the 5125 is the same as the 5100, but you will need to convert the 5/8's eyelet to 12mm. We offer the two bushings and sleeves in a kit for $12.

The shocks with bushings run 168 :)

Bilstein direct can provide this info to you, but I dont think its published.

This is so confusing because on my 2010 I had the TSB done and added a Toytec TSB AAL 1.5 and bought the rear 5100's and had them installed without wondering which ones I needed. Now it seems crazy

A lot of it is overlapping, I think I am making it harder than it really is with all these options.

Okay I have the factory 4 leaf on my new Tacoma. Currently I am at 1.75 on the front and Factory TRD Bilstein's in the rear. I want to go the full 3 inches up front, and add an AAL in the rear. Most likely the Toytec 1.5 to 2.0 AAL which rear Bilstein shock will I need?

If you go with the 2.0, go for the 5125. If you go for the 1.5, you are good with the standard bilstein 5100.

AGAIN..... it does not matter what AAL you go with... WATCH THE COLLAPSED LENGTH of the 5125 .... put them on, and go SLOWLY flex the truck till a wheel is in the air, ill bet your bumpstop is not on the frame.

    Measurements dont lie.

5100's all around with OME 884 at 0. Weathertechs, Carhartt seat covers. BFG KO2's 265/70/17. T4R SEMA wheels. 18% tint on front windows. General Springs HD 4 leaf pack, Leer 100 XR shell.
is that the same result with a 4 leaf oem pack when using the 5100's in the rear and a progressive aal like the icon or wheelers set?

The same shit everyone else has.
I did some measuring after work since you kept mentioning this.

    Here's what I came up with -

    Driver side -

    - Static length - 20"
    - Full extension - 24.5"
    - Bumpstop to frame distance - 4.5"
    - Which makes the full compression - 15.5"

    Passenger side -

    - Static length - 20.5"
    - Full extension - 24.5"
    - Bumpstop to frame distance - 4.5"
    - Which makes the full compression - 16"

    - So to play it safe that the shocks dont bottom out before the axle hits the bump stop, well say full compression is 15".

    - And to play it safe that the shocks dont over extend before the suspension fully flexes, well say full extension is 24.75".

    1. The 5125s are a good extended length (25.98") but are too long by almost 1" when fully collapsed (16.14") and will bottom out before the axle hits the stock bumpstop.

    2. The Tacoma 5100s are a good collapsed length (14.02"), but are too short by almost 2" when fully extended (22.94"), and will allow not the rear suspension to flex completely.

    3. The B110 5100s are a good extended length (27.18"), but are too long by 1" when fully collapsed (16.34") and will bottom out before the axle hits the stock bumpstop.

    4. The 07+ Tundra 5100s are good extended length (24.8") and are a good collapsed length (14.02"). The axle will hit the stock bumpstop before the shock bottoms out and the leafs will fully flex before the shock fully extends.

I know Im over thinking this ALOT, but I was curious of the real world numbers of the rear suspension flex.

Also, here is another bit of interesting information....

This is what a stock shock (same length as a 5100) looks like a full extension vs a 1.5" add a leaf at full extention -

    4E19052D-35BE-4A13-A185-4B2FCEE464BA_zps_bea910d1ddbcff5b00dfc62d35989ff409c4aa6a.jpg

You're losing 2" of flex with the stock shocks.

Bumping this back up because I still cannot find the answer Im looking for.

Do you guys with the Tacoma 5100s have any issues with over extending them?

Im just worried that Im going to drop the money on them and end up either being unhappy or damaging them.

But at the same time, the more I think about it, the more I dont really see me ever using the full range of flex in the rear suspension. As far as I know, I've never over extended the existing rear shocks w/ the 1.5" lift. Maybe.

also note that the shock length collapsed when flexed is going to be slightly shorter than how you measured due to the shock being further out on the axle rather than the bump.

I measured ~ 14.75 in collapsed (thats center of the eye to where the first washer rests on the shaft of the shock just above the boot..... thats how they measure eye to shaft shock)

Thanks for that bit of info. Even at that length you have listed, the Tundra ones still fall into the correct compressed length - 14.02".

I really want to pull the trigger on them, but Im worried the valving will be too stiff.

    Sigh

You're overthinking this. For YOUR intended purposes, you'll be more than satisfied with 5100s. I have them with the 3 leaf aal from Wheeler's, it rides great and functions well too. There's plenty of travel since you aren't going to do any rock crawling. Here's a pic of mine:

I guess this might seem like a dumb question, but what is the stock lift for a Tacoma set at - Eg a TRD Off Road.
