I put front 5100's at 1.75'' and a revtek aal on the back. After doing so, i realized that replacing the rear shocks with bilsteins would be pretty damn easy. is it worth it? they're pretty inexpensive. Will i notice any better ride or handling? i haven't noticed any difference so far with my front bilsteins.

interesting. i really didn't notice any difference with 5100's at 1.75'' up front except the steering is a little less sharp...

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
You have preloaded your front springs in favor of lift. Whatever improvement the shock valving has over OE is tainted because of the loss of spring action.

Lift is best accomplished with proper rate and length springs, matched with a damper that is compatible with that new spring. Then you'll have the full advantage of lift and as compliant a ride as you can get with stiffer springs.

To your original rear question. Seems lots of folks have them, but they typically appear to be installed when the OE rears are shot, or there is a model that gives a longer stroke I believe some folks use.

Absolutely no reason to get 5100s in the rear if you're at stock height in the rear.

The OEM Bilstein shocks and 5100s are internally identical, the only reason to change them is personal choice or adding lift.

You would have noticed a better ride had you installed new coils like OME 88X's. Yes I did notice a difference with the AAL and 5100 rears. Or you can take the advice of the other posters who haven't owned them.:notsure:

Adding to the above post. OME 88_ coils or eibach/toytec 3 or 2 inch coils. Both of those coil spring options lift but do not effect the shock dampening as stock coils on 5100 set @1.75. I started at 1.75 on my 5100's and moved it to .85 with a 1/4 spacer on the driver side for the Taco lean. 1.75 was to stiff for road bumps, handled great but to dam stiff. .85 is much better than stock and way better than 1.75 more body roll but better bump compliance. I have the eibach 3 inch coils in my garage and will be installing them in a few weeks along with LR UCAS. If the price is right on the king group buy I will be getting some king coil overs soon. The steering being less sharp is the alignment technicians fault or maybe yours? What did you tell them to set your caster at after you lifted the front? Your answer will determine the guilty participant.

Bottom line... don't get a block lift. Going all suspension is the way to go whether it be AALs or adjustable shocks, those ore the way to go.
