Honestly if you're not real comfortable with electrical work, just take it to the dealer for a "check and advise". Sucks to spend the money, but it's not worth banging your head against a wall on a 2 year old truck.

Yeah that's 100% the plan if it ends up being something outside my area of comfort

Post up a location to see if TW member is close by who can assist.

You want to make sure you have a stock harness and bulbs in there before you take it to a dealer. If they find funky eBay LEDs you can be hit with "none Toyota parts, $150 diagnostic fee". Lots of eBay crap, so they need to spend time to diagnose and return to stock. The common ground point, so if everything else is good it's a bad socket. Just odd.

There is a tail light relay that powers up the green wire. White/Black provides ground.

This sounds like the Combination Socket has a connection issue.

Turn the truck on , headlights on and blinker on . Have the bulb in the socket and push on the bulb and turn , push wires into bulb socket , push connections together and see if anything makes the bulb blink .

This sounds like the directional bulb is searching for a ground. As ktbell444 suggested, us a multi meter to check that the black/white wires in the sockets on that side have good grounds.

All sorts of weird things happen when a circuit loses a ground.

Also make sure that the bulbs are the correct type. If you've already done that, a lost ground is the most likely suspect.

Try disconnecting your trailer hitch harness. You might have messed that up backing into the wall and it's shorting from there.

This is a long shot. Check the pins on the connector. One may be bent. I remember a post here last week about someone whose front window won’t open after installing a remote start. It was a bent pin on the connector after all. Hope this helps.

Does it blink once and then stop? If so, you have an overload condition on the blinker circuit. I ran into this when converting to LED and all the Meso lights. In my case, I needed to use a smaller ballast resistor.

It's unlikely to be a short, more likely an open ground.

Doesn't blink at all, and bulbs are OEM nothing fancy going on there.
