With quite a lot of cursing I was able to get the old steel lines out and get the couplers removed from the flex hoses without damaging the flex hoses.
So far so good however routing of the new lines without removal of the gas tank or raising the box is a PITA.
Does anyone have any tips on installing the new lines without gas tank removal or box removal?

    Thanks for the help.

oh man that is a chore. sorry to say but removal of the tank is about the only way to do it without bending the new ones. I have never replaced them on a tacoma but have done many hot rods and even they are a pain with no fuel tank in the way. I would Google it and see if there are any videos on it. good luck though sorry I can't be of more help.

If its not full its not bad. I would recommend doing it with no more then a 1/4 tank. just remove the plastic cover and there should be 2 straps that hold it in. be carefull when lowering to not kink any lines at the sending unit. getting to the lines can be a pain but with some patience it's not bad. having a transmission jack helps out a lot and a extra set of hands is a good idea.

Update: the lines can be installed without dropping the gas tank or raising the box. It is a huge PITA but if an old dude and his wife can do anyone can!.
