Anyone experiencing the same problem I'm experiencing? I'm having a problem with my 2017 Tacoma, when I wash the vehicle, the rear brake on the driver side locks up when I try to pull away. Only the passenger side tire will spin dragging the driver side tire. I've been to Toyota several times and they can't find an issue with it. The last time I was there, they replaced everything on the rear brake parts. Washed my truck yesterday and it happened again. Luckily I have video proof to show them or they'd think I'm crazy.

It happens. Normally associated with a vehicle that has been washed and then sat overnight, or for a period of time with the parking brake engaged.
Haven't heard of it with a wash n' go, though.

I’ve had a similar thing happen on my 2018 after I wash it and it sits overnight. Not sure which wheel it is on mine. Thought it might be the front cuz once it stuck bad enough that it spun the rear tire before it broke loose.

I’ll definitely watch this thread to see what you figure out!

Sounds like a parking brake hanging up.

Are you moving the truck immedately after you wash it? Or is it staying parked for an extended period of time? I've never had this happen to me (summer or winter) but have heard of it happening with others. Have you tried to drive it around the block or down the street to get the water out and dry it up?

Sounds like water is getting into the drum and rusting the shoe to the braking surface.

No , not usually. I'll try doing that before I dry the truck off. Thanks

I'm not having this issue, but have seen it with my previous truck after I changed the shoes from OEM to Centric. I just chalked it up to a different shoe compound that maybe swells temporarily with water.

Are you washing on a level surface? If safe to do so, leave the parking brake off when washing the truck.
