    Hi,

Has anyone had a squeal from the rear brakes at the very end of the stop when stopping really light on the pedal? And does it happen about 3 out of 5 times more when the drum is heated a little bit? I have had my truck in to Toyota 3 times to look at the rears and they keep saying the squeal is normal operation...just wondering if I got some bad drums at the Baja plant and or maybe the parts sat outside and rusted or warped...these drums were the rustiest drums I have ever seen on a tacoma...thanks please let me know of any advice

My 2014 was doing that a few years ago. I just took the drums off, cleaned everything with brake cleaner and it went away. You would think that the dealer would have tried cleaning yours when they inspected the brakes, but who knows if they even took the drums off.

I have the exact same problem. Super slow stops and right at the end, a little squeal. I can tell it’s coming from the back brakes but can’t determine which one even when outside the vehicle.

Last time I was at Toyota I didn’t mention it because I’m sure it would have been something, normal sound, non reproducible, lift or tire excuse, aftermarket radio knobs even. Didn’t want to waste my time.

Will try the cleaning route next time they’re off.

Exactly what my '14 is doing. Hard to describe to the tech, and random but right at the END of a light braking cycle.

Interesting. I have the same from what I believe is the right rear.

I have removed the drum a tapped out the dust. I have not tried spraying it down yet.

Looking for info here, but not a big deal.

Old post, over a year. Still applies for me though, it’s almost every time I stop now....still haven’t gotten around to taking off those drums.
