I have a 4x4 01 Tacoma. I am having a braking issue. Sometimes the rear brakes will grab hard and even lock up at lower speeds under normal braking. I have checked the rear shoes and they are not out of adjustment. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?

mine do the same thing at low speeds especially when it is raining. I believe it is normal for trucks to do this until brakes warm up/ dry off.

Does your truck also make a thunk coming to a stop or exhibit axel wrap? I think it might be related to that... Just got rid of my axel wrap (or at least reduced it) and the rear brakes feel much less catchy

I do have the cheap mod reverse mounted over load springs to help out with the axle wrap.

I have the same problem with my 2001, didnt notice it till after i bought it from a used dealer.
changed brakes, bled the lines to make sure no air bubbles in there and still it does it.
if you guys figure out how to fix it please let me know!
