I was off roading and I didn't realize I hit my rear bumper until after I got off the trail and got a BSM error in the dash.
After inspecting, I noticed some parts broke loose and some of the plastic sheared off. Not exactly the bumper cover, but the plastic underneath where it all mounts.
I've included some photos of the damage for assessment.

Do you think I can just replace the plastic pieces and it will all go back together? The BSM module looks to be intact and Im thinking this will all go back together and then function properly.
Please share your suggestions. Thank you

Yes, it looks like the plastic sub structure broke. Good news, many TW folks replace their OEM bumper and end up throwing away that plastic sub structure (me included). Post a WTB in the BST forum and I'm sure someone will hook you up, if you cover shipping.

    Good idea.
I’ve located the part online and ordered it.
And I just removed the broken piece. So I think I should be able to get it all back together when the part arrives.
    Thanks
I plan to keep this for now since I like having the BSM. Although a metal bumper would be great.
Also considering the UTE from uptop but that could be years so want to fix this first for now.

    I did the same thing...twice.

    Couple tips:
1- That piece is fiberglass, not plastic. Wear gloves when handling it.
2- Take plenty of time and care removing the top step pad. The clips like to break off.

Fixed the bumper. The part worked with the BSM. Sensors reset and all is well. Cheers
