Anyone have any recommendations for a replacement bumper for a 2001 tacoma ?
    I want chrome.
There are a lot of retailers selling chrome replacement bumpers online for sale for $100-$300....I am sure the quality of most is not great and will eventually rust out. I live in New England...where winter road/snow treatments are not kind to vehicles.

Has anyone bought a replacement chrome bumper online they are happy with ?

You could look for a used oem one on car-part.com or eBay.

I’ve seen several junkyards and people on eBay, selling used cheap Chinese bumpers as OEM just because they came in on the back of an old Tacoma doesn’t mean that they weren’t already replaced once.
    I’ve been looking too.

x3. Haven’t seen an unblemished OEM bumper available anywhere. I’ve learned to live with the dent some dipwad 16 year old in his daddy’s F150 put in my rear bumper a couple years ago.

To be honest I haven’t looked for a used bumper on eBay since I don’t have a stock one and there’s always a lot of them for sale in LA since these are used all the time for work trucks. Car-part will get you in touch with junkyards where you may find someone honest and smart enough to find one. Since regardless if it’s oem or aftermarket, it’s going to melt away in the salt, why not use something that won’t rust?

Whatever you end up going with will get eaten up by New England salt, whether OEM or Chinesium. You can drastically extend the life of the bumper shell by coating the inside with Cosmoline, Amsoil HDMP, or similar before installation and every year or two afterwards.
