Take a look at post #7

Disconnect the trailer power connector.pop off the licence plate lights.remove licence plate. The plastic cover#3 is removable just by pulling up(its on clips). Then you'll see the top part of #9 and #10. There are 2 screws there that u can loose and move the bumper ends forward and back. Im out of town, but when i get back ill try to show u how it looks on the inside:)

Very common issue - my bed and bumper we misaligned. Dealer said "normal" - not kidding. I used my Torx and realigned myself. Bumper still off as it was from the factory, at some point I'll fix it but given the REAL performance impacting issues I've had it now seems like a nonissue (just like the vibe in the gas pedal @ 2k that I was irate about when I bought it....). All seem so small when the truck was assembled by SoCo drinking kids with no supervision. You know when I saw the bumper thing soon after I got my truck home, I remember thinking to myself... if they can't get the obvious exterior stuff right, what's messed up that I CAN'T see. Unfortunately I slowly learned the painful answers to my queries.... :(

    1) Buy a high clearance bumper
    2) Cut off original
    3) Problem solved

My Pro built May 2017 is also closer on the passenger side, maybe by 3/8ths or so. I have not bothered to tweak it as I plan to change it anyways and figure if I am going to go through the trouble of taking it off, I might as well replace it.

I have the same issue. Since you are looking into all of this closely (nothing wrong with it) take a peek at the color of front bumper and fender. You will be surprised to see the color discrepancy.

 I'm going to get a HC w/ swing-out at some point anyways. Maybe if someone posts a video making it look really easy I can give it a go. Or just let my dealer do it.

Any update on the fix with pictures? Are the clips reusable?

got to be kidding me? the alignment of the rear bumper is off by ~1/2"?!?! This is unacceptable from Toyota and needs a recall and next months payment wavied.

I noticed mine being off about a week or so into ownership. The dealership said they would fix it. Unfortunately, other more serious concerns popped up, and I never asked them to do it. In the grand scheme of things its not that big of a deal. I might ask them next time I'm in. I'm tired of all of the trips to the dealership at this point, so I'm not sure when that will be.

I feel the same way! I first discovered it when I changed out my chrome caps for black ones. Bothered me a lot at first, but now not really a big deal. It's something no one really notices except me and one day the bumper will be replaced anyway

I went through that same progression. Isn't that the stages of grief?

    Denial, bargaining, anger, depression, acceptance?

Haha That's pretty much what I went through and then I landed "thank God I can't see both sides of the bumper at the same time or that would drive me nuts. I'll just live with it "
