Well I've done went and pulled a stupid... backed into a pole.

Very very grumpy with myself right now. Then im sure i'll hear it from dragon ops when she gets home. Many many a foul word has been muttered.

    1507067045005358607307.jpg

Now i guess my question is, who has done something similar? How much did it cost for OEM?

If oem is more than a sweet aftermarket offroad jernt i might go that route.

Just go aftermarket. Holds up better against poles.

The painted bumper cap and support are sold separately, black step pad is all one piece...plus paint to match on the cover....add sensors....I'm betting a new high clearance bumper would be within 100 bucks or so of fixing that one.

I would agree with that. Ask yourself how long you plan on keeping the truck and what are your plans with the truck. Either way it will be close to the same pain in the wallet.

Not worth using insurance, you pay a deductible and increased rates for at least 3 years. Cheaper to pay out of pocket.

Maybe, but I personally wouldn't want to take that risk of the system malfunctioning and not detecting a car that's in my blind spot.

You are absolutely correct. Makes you wonder why we even have insurance in the first place.

It's used for major things not little bs things.
Also we have it is to protect ourself from stupid law suits.
It's what I do for a living so if you want to use it on the small stuff go ahead but be ready to pay in the end and also increase everyones rates in your area. Remember is all about statistics and those small claims don't put stats on the side of the consumer. I know it sucks but it's the truth.

I could, but why pay for a system and then not use it? I have a second gen so this doesn't apply to my truck, but my DD Subaru has blind spot detection, and fuuuuck is it nice.

Did your '17 OR come with a painted bumper? That's odd.
