I am considering a 55" CVT Awning and Room of the back of my truck as my camping setup. I like the idea because I would probably have an awning off the back either way. So Im really just adding a room for ~$300 which isnt horrible. The room makes the very limited coverage of the awning more usable in any sort of weather as well. My plan would be to do some sort of quick detach system for the awning and it would be stored in the bed. Since I am doing this I thought about going with a bigger awning but I have a short bed and would like for it to slide in straight and not be angled across the bed.

    Uses:
-Quick camp setup for hunting. When I get to a trail head late, I can roll out awning if expecting rain. Get ready in the morning, roll it up and go.
    -Basecamp for hunting.
-Day trips with family for shade and cover from any weather.
-Camping with family. Have a young child and should be able to all fit in the bed of the truck for a while. Can get bumped to the floor with the awning room as space gets tighter.

If we eventually wanted more space we could get a separate tent and have this as the hangout/cooking area still. So to me it seems like a good starter package for family camping, fits into my quick hunting setup/basecamp, and will be something we can use long term while we expand space.

My main concern is wind and rain. Anyone have experience with the waterproofing on the awning room? I live in western WA and it could definitely be an issue. Anyone ever have issues with water pooling on the roof of the room? How do these things handle wind? Some of the awnings with individual walls seem like theyd do better since they are angled but a fully sealed room would be much nicer. We are often up high so we are basically in clouds where you can just see moisture floating across almost parallel to the ground. So any gaps just means things are getting wet. I have sewed up a complete hammock setup so I could sew up fillers for the walls, but still concerned with gap between the awning and the walls on the roof. At this point Im so low on time, having another project is just another headache idk I really want to do and would prefer to just buy setup.

Thier site doesnt really have much for pics of these and didnt have any luck searching for them, so If anyone has this setup and could post some pics that would be awesome. Would love to see how it fits up against the truck on the inside as well as just views from different angles and space inside.

Is there still a CVT code for TW? The old one doesnt seem to be working anymore.

Did you end up going this route? I have the 55' awning installed - trying to find reviews on the walls now.

I ended up going with a larger setup from ironman4x4. I'm guessing they'd be similar. Not sure how much I'd like it if I had gotten the smaller size. Fills up fast with a cooking table, chair, cooler, etc. But guess it depends what u want out of it. Just had it out in some decent rain and wind. Handled rain pretty well. Dropped one side of the awning down so it could drain. Few drips came in from where the walls met the vehicle. Didnt have any water pool on top of the room. Also got pretty windy. Was a little sheltered but still had quite a bit of wind come through. Flapped quite a bit but never felt like it was going to become an issue. Idk if it'd be something I'd set up exposed on a ridge though.
