Ok, guess I'm confused. I understand needing 90404-51052 to go in the diff (at one end of the hose), and 90930-03097 to go at the other end, don't see the need for 90404-51319 as well. I'm looking here:

It's got a cop motor, a 440-cubic-inch plant. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. It's a model made before catalytic converters so it'll run good on regular gas.
What about trans and transfer, do they have breathers too?

So, here's my understanding - stock, the diff has an exhaust-only breather (with a check valve on it). The function of this is to release hot gas pressure, but allow nothing in. If you drive along for a while, your diff gets hot, any gases in it heat up, and that hot, high-pressure gas is exhausted. If you then drive through cold(er) water, this causes your diff to cool down, and the gases in it to contract. This creates a vacuum, which can draw water in through the seals on the diff, which then causes problems. The idea is to put a fitting on the diff for a rubber hose, run that up to somewhere higher, then put a 2-way breather on the end of it, so that gases can go both ways. Should allow hot gases to leave, and air to re-enter when the diff cools down.
    Right?

I bought the ARB breather kit. Anyone have any good mount locations for this?

I have seen behind the rear tail light. The ARB is really fancy, I am interested where you finally get to install it. Please share photos too.

Here is a quick search of what I found online.

kinda on the right line, but it will suck water in through the breather which is easily submerged since its mounted right on the axle housing. say launching a boat, rear end will be submerged and sucking in to compensate for pressure difference caused by quick cooling

Don't you think Toyota would have though about this since so many people launch their boat and submerge the axle?

nope. stupid design flaw thats easily corrected. chalk it up to the same dummy who decided the LCA needed to be swiss cheesed for weight savings, same defective clutch pedal assy, piss poor ac drain location, drivers side carrier bearing etc.
