I don’t see any wires. Usually the vent is on the canister. Could be wrong though

For the purge? That goes from the tank to intake, so it is most likely no where near the filler.

    The fun of schematics.

Yeah. If you could confirm that would be great. We can set this topic to rest and I can go ahead with locating the breather to this location. I think I prefer this location so I can eyeball it quickly when I'm fueling up.

I’d imagine you’d be fine as long as you’re proud of the bezel and it doesn’t leak behind it.

Kind of funny, really. If you spill some fuel, we'll just let it drip through onto the ground. We only care about the vapors over here on this one side.

For the vent? Purge is likely by the intake on the top of the engine

It depends. Since we have a split fuel rail for D4-S, it could be anywhere between the tank and HPFP. The charcoal canister itself is the dingus that is under the bed. Those used to typically be in the engine bay.

Yap. Which is probably where the vent valve is.

Very nice. I'm debating between a setup like yours or the one below. I think it will just come down to what is easier to get to.

I liked it bc it was clean looking, an easy place to check without having to see it all the time, and worst case if I ever sell I can trade or buy another cubby piece (if that is a big complaint from anyone). Plus what else would I use that cubby for besides things that can still go in there. (I also had the arb kit left over from my 4Runner)

After all that research and back & forth with you I ended up going with the tail light location. On my 2019 I don't have the driver side bed cubby. So I would have to remove the wheel well liner to reach the filler neck area from the back. It looked like a few bolts and a some plastic clips. Knowing my luck I would have broken a couple of those clips and would have turned an easy 15 min job into an annoying search for those liner clips:annoyed:. The passenger side bed cubby just didn't seem that much higher than where the stock breather sits on the axle. So, I pop the tail light out and see how easy it is to get to that location as well as how much higher you can get the breather. If the filler neck weren't so hard to get to from the back I would have done that.:rofl:

It's super easy. As for height, you can push it to the top of your bed rails.

For those that have done this, did you use 1/4 or 3/8 tubing and fitting on the diff? I have seen two different PN listed over a couple of threads.
I definitely want to to get the two-way breather valve, is that one diameter or the other?

It looks like I did not take note, but I did buy the hose at Lowes:
I know that I took the nipple with me to test fit them. I erred on the tight side.

I just did this last weekend, I went to Autozone and got some bulk fuel line that fit the smaller nipple end, the actual breather end, and then lubed up the union that went into the diff with some silicone lube and slid the fuel line on it without issue once installed. I wanna say the fuel line was 5/16" but am not sure it could be 1/4" Definitely not 3/8".

I also disassembled the one-way breather that I pulled out of the diff and it had a neat spring loaded closure in it... Picture for anyone interested

I tried to remove factory breather with the 14 mm wrench but the nut is not strong enough and now it is slippy that I can't remove. I did try 13 mm but it won't fit in. Any idea?
