Guess I'll be picking up more valvoline today. I felt like I almost stripped the drain plug a few times so I might replace it with the internal 10mm hex plug next time.

On the rear diff? It was probably overtorqued from the factory. I'd stick with a 24mm bolt, esp going into steel. It can take more loosening torque than a 10mm internal.

Using the torque given in the OP, everything is looking great and no leaks.

I think you will be fine down the road.

Just to give you all some perspective. Dealership quoted me $150 EACH to service transfer case, front and rear diffs.......I think i'll be doing this myself.

You can do all 3 for about $60 total

The Tcase is specific weight not 75W90

Redline heavy shockproof in diffs, trans, and transfer case has worked great for me for 295k miles. I have changed the fluids five times. Third gen 4runner

I’m a believer in changing out gear oil after a short break in period. Changed out the rear differential in my 2018 around 2,000 and there was enough metal on the plug and in the oil to make it worth doing IMO. After the break in change, I use 50k - 60k intervals.

Regarding the plug gaskets, I almost never change them unless the old one looks gnarly. I keep a set on hand just in case. Worst case you wind up with minor seepage and can swap it out on the next change.
