I recently just bought a 2021 Tacoma TRD Off-road and I have become victim to the rear differential howl. Last week I bought a 2021 Tacoma with 15,000 miles on it, yes I test drove it, I did not hear it at the time of test drive. I noticed the howl after a few days of owning the truck. I brought up the noise with the salesman within days of having the truck and took it in today to have it looked at. I was very descriptive of what I thought it was and was hopeful they would fix it, especially since there is so many people with the issue. Nope, I went to pick the truck up and they had done nothing but note that it was nothing but “road noise.” I sold my 2003 Duramax truck for this truck, I know what road noise is and what something off sounds like. I’ve had the truck for less than a week and they did nothing to remedy the issue, nor did they tell me they did nothing to fix the issue before coming to get the truck, all they said was “it’s ready.” I have to disagree with all the people on this forum that say “it’s a truck, it’s normal.” I will not have my $40k truck making noises. Has anyone found a solution to make Toyota address this issue or anything to lessen the noise?
