Schematic certainly shows it as a direct connection, although it goes from the switch to connector R44, then to connector IN1, before going to the ECU or ground...
I havent wrung out that section

Maybe this relay would be more appropriate. Single trigger to latch and unlatch.

Just a thought locked rears are a bad thing on dry pavement, locked diffs will drive ABS nuts and will break things much quicker in high range.

Has anyone been able to confirm that the 10 pin and 40 pin connectors actually fit? Id love to do this for the 2low mod but only if I can make a removable harness.

The way life is working, it isnt looking good anytime soon. (On a layover enroute to Peru at the moment)
Visually it looks really good, I would go for it.

I bet it works, or worst case works with a little trimming... but not sure.

have not tried the connectors yet as I have been waiting on parts to arrive. My plan is to make the 2 low mod first with the removal harness. and then add in the rear lock anytime mod.

Anyone have any concerns about turning on the diff lock when it should not be? Like driving down the freeway. It's unlikely but sooner or later it would happen.

    :::Edit:::
Maybe use the vsc switch to arm it?

yes it is a possibility. Same as the old "grey wire mod" on the gen1 Tacoma's. This will definitely be up to the driver be aware and make good decision. I'm willing to take that responsibility with my truck.

One of my biggest concerns after seeing pictures of the elocker on a workbench... is the speed factor.
The sticker on the doorjamb says not to exceed 5mph.
I believe this is because part of the locker remains stationary within the diff... so that means the rest of it turns with the carrier.
I have no idea how its otherwise constructed (bearings/bushings/etc) so its entirely possible that it could self destruct at what may seem like safe speeds of 25-35mph.

I think before I start hotwiring mine... id like to see more of how its constructed and possibly get an opinion from one of our diff builders/vendors here.

Id love to be able to run up a snow covered hill with the diff locked at 25mph... but not if its gonna smoke the locker.

I have been following the 5.29 Mega Thread.. and based on the build that is shown on pages 15 through 17, I believ @ZUK would be able to shed some insight to the inner workings of this mechanism.

You dont know me, so you shouldn't trust what I say, but the locker will not self destruct if driven 25 mph. The 5mph limit is for your safety, not the lockers safety. The locking carrier will spin as fast as you can drive your truck, not that you should... On the other hand you should gain experience in how the truck drives with the rear locker engaged because it will be more likely to want to swap ends. Having the locker engaged will also put more strain on a hand full of parts, but if you're locking axles you are probably out having fun and should know that your chances of breaking shit is probably less than probable but still you're taking chances with every obstacle. Take off the foil hats, and have fun.

Truth. The 5mph warning is CYA lawyer speak. It's fine to drive over that, just should be done with some thought and caution.

Very similar locker is used in the first and second gen Ford raptor. Those will stay locked to 99mph. The only failure I saw in those was from locked burnouts.
