Agreed, still waiting on quotes from a few of the places on Alibaba.

That 12 pin connector is a good example of how big companies can use their power of the "P" word. That connector is 100% identical to an off the shelf Yazaki connector that is readily available. The only difference is that one rib you are referring to. I believe it is made by either a partner or sister company called Tokai Rika that likely only sells to OEMs in volume and is likely a Toyota specific proprietary connector. I don't know how that Rakuten seller is getting them, but I'm guessing they find their way out the back door. I'm still not sure how you ended up with the wrong one since my 2nd order came through perfectly, except for my f-up.

Anyone touched this in a while? Thanks to OP for all your efforts here, understood you are now bowing out. The OVTune option appears off the table as well.

Seems like someone was working on a PWM controlled discreet harness and switch that would bypass all the factory stuff, any luck?

I stopped looking into it because there is no nice way to also disable ABS and traction control. The electronics side is fairly trivial.

    No work here

Taking over manual control to lock it is pretty easy (and has been done).

Spoofing the ECU (to try and have the ECU lock and disable ABS) proved to be beyond my attempts.

(For now, time to prep for hurricane)

I need this.....tgus is the problem with modern crap. I wish they would keep it simple, we all know they could and still have the same functionality. They dont like us fooking with thier systems and would make them easy to work on....like I said they dont want that so they make them as complicated as possible within reason. Makes me second guess trying to keep this truck for more than 10 years.

Well good thing I found this thread before I bought a 2020 off-road. I knew the locker only worked in 4lo but I was hoping you could modify it like the 2nd gen to work in 4hi. Well this makes me second guess my decision on buying and off-road and buying a sport or sr5 and doing an arb or something similar.

I had a Lock Right locker in my first gen and it was great having it all the time while off-road, not just in 4Lo.

And the 2WD OR models can lock in 2WD (obviously) Just a shame they don't allow the 4WD trucks to do it.

Has anyone figured this out yet?
@Shellshock , @tonered , is there anything in Techstream that could help us get a locker anytime mod? It was so simple on the first gen. Ground out the gray wire on the 4wd module, and you were set. Now this shit seems like rocket science! @OVTune, do you or your boys have the knowledge for something like this?

I know how to do it, two different ways. The first, I'm not sure I want to mass produce. The Second is awaiting my time to make a test harness.

Techstream is of no use here unfortunately.

Wait patiently while he works his magic. The 2lo kit he made was amazing.

So I have revisited my thoughts on not being able to disable TRAC and ABS when using the locker anytime mod.

I am drawing up a schematic now to have a PCB made up that will hold an Arduino, all the necessary power stuff, and the relays. It will include the 2LM functionality as well. I believe I can use the existing locker button and you would only need a 2Lo button (optional).

The question is, what is it worth to people? With the custom fab and short runs of PCBs, I expect it will almost double the cost of the 2LM itself.

How much is 2Lo mod? I'm seriously interested in the locker anytime mod!!!

I'll take a survey on the FB Tacoma groups and see what the people have to say as well.

Yeah, that's probably in the ballpark. I won't know until I get it designed and have pricing from the vendor.
