    Yeah, sorry about that.

Technically, I’m a few years short of qualifying. But heck, it’s what all the whippersnappers call anyone over 45.

Can you provide SOME detail on the passenger side wire function that (I assume) disables traction control... (does it replace pressing the button, transmit CAN messages, ground a signal, etc)

I'm guessing CAN is involved somehow...
Looks a lot like the Bud's Custom anytime locker(AUS), that's no longer available.

It is on the drivers side, It is for traction control and it just duplicates the ground signal just like the Trac off button. It doesn’t disable the button though.

    AHHHH you are right.
I got confused because the pdf instructions PICTURE says IA5 Pin 15, and the text instructions in the pdf says IA5 Pin 19.

As you said, this is the roof VSC switch line

So I assume this installation will NOT disable ABS, unlike the Toyota installation.
(not that I know WHY Toyota disables ABS when locking the rear).

I just used that connector because it’s the same throughout all the model years.

I got this installed first of the week and so far everything seems to work fine. Took me about 45 minutes to get the main part of the unit put together to test it and another 45 minutes to run the 2 wires for the indicator light up to the overhead console including drilling the hole and changing the map lights to leds etc.
I like the idea of a locker I can switch on at will. So far I am happy with it.

Any word on compatibility with the 2wd-Low range harness?

Locked 2wd lo would be very helpful for towing and at the boat ramp.

Isn’t that possible with just the 2lo harness?

Yes, but only at low wheel speeds. For toght maneuvering and boat ramp use, that's fine. But occassionally you need some wheel speed.

So what would happen if I installed it without the T-tap and just manually pressed the traction control button?

    I'm going in.

Doing this and 2-LO at the same time. Didn't realize I would be piggybacking a piggyback harness; an all-in-one solution, while too late for me now, would be worthwhile..whole lotta connections going on there. Not sure if there's a preferred order to them but I will start with 2-LO first and the locker harness in to it..no particular reason. I am also going to try skipping the T-tap connection and see if manually disabling works before I button everything back up, I hate nicking up insulation and conductors with those taps.

Just ordered mine, I'm so used to my zr2 where I could have the rear locker whenever I wanted. I miss that with my taco

I finally got around to installing mine, with an existing installed 2-lo harness. It doesn't seem like they work together, at least the way mine was configured - which was 2-lo harness into the 4wd ecu, and the anytime diff lock plugged into the back of that. Let anytime diff lock seemed to work, the LED lit up, and the traction control turned off. Additionally, the factory 4 hi/lo was functioning normally. But the 2-lo didn't seem to be working. After engaging the button, I could hear the transfer case click after switching from 2 to 4wd. Also, I tried to force an error, and disengage 4-lo while the 2-lo button was still on, and I did not receive the error message.

I will dig back in tomorrow, and change the order of harnesses to see if that changes anything.

Keep us posted about skipping the tap method. I would like to know if that works. I feel the same way about tapping into wires. I usually cut them and solder the wire in then heat shrink them to avoid it

Caveat: I have not driven extensively since completion - driveway/yard test only.

But, that said - all success here. Worst part was just jamming all the harness in to place to clear the glovebox. It seems to work independently of the ABS/TRAC state, I was able to turn the locker on, get a solid status light, and it definitely was locked up (gravel drive). Works with and without 2-LO on. I am aftermarket light averse but there's a little slot on the side of the glovebox that the supplied light slides perfectly in to, so I'll just have to open the glovebox to check locker status..no big deal I say.

And 2LO is going to be freaking awesome, I can already tell...

Request pics of the light, if you get a chance... was assuming I would omit it if I bothered doing the mod... but a stealth light is a good idea...
