Where did you see that? I've scanned the 07 owners manual and did not see any such direction.

It says it on the card on my visor...

I went and in the book P182. Shifting Between 4H 4L...

1)Bring the truck to a complete stop and the break pedal held down with your foot
2 )shift the automatic trnsmition selector into "N"
    3) push and turn the front drive controll knob fully clockwise.

If the buzzer sounds/lights, try steps again.

Thanks dude. I just got back to TO and read your latest post. When you are in panic mode, I don’t read and or grasp information well :der: . I read page 179 about 4WD and gave up. However, I did as you suggested on Saturday and switched to 4LO while on neutral. It switched without a problem but it still wouldn’t go even half way up the hill. Wheels spun out half way up. This is one steep hill many people with 2WD vehicles are scared to go down even in the summer. When passers-by saw my truck parked down this path all weekend, they stopped and probable thought how I’d get out with all that snow on the pathway. As I pulled out the come-along and cables, my kid said, “why don’t you take a run at it starting from the lake”. Gave it a try with 4LO fearing I might end up in the ditch and I reached the top even before I new it. I think I got lucky  . I wouldn’t try that again unless I have tire chains or a winch. Note that I’m very new to 4WD vehicles and beginning to love them. It’s cool and thanks for your help.
BTW, what’s with the new avatar dude? Do you work for KFC or just hungry? :hungry: Eat Steak

nothing else would fit in the box - chicken leg it is. lol...

4x4 is not complicated to own at all... if it is new you just need to get use to it... i have never owned a 4x4 before this, but have drive them at work...
