truth here but it seems the only sensible thing at this point is hands off, wait and tow on Monday. let it be a dealer/warranty problem and not risk making the situation worse simply due to impatience (it's one more day after all).

Try pulling one of the wheel sensors off the rear. You may have a loose connection, or have stretched a wire that effects the ABS/Vehicle Stabilization System. This happened to me and my drivers side rear kept locking up like you described. Unplugging it will through a code and disable the system, but it should drive again.

along with what a few others are advising in the thread i really don't want to start wrenching on it.

im going to try a few more diagnosis like jacking the rear and seeing for wheelspin but at this point not only would it look weird taking it back to the dealer after trying all these things, but yes i have a factory warranty and a extended warranty. this is thier job and is probably something they did during the service earlier in the day related to the drums or the drive shaft.

who knows what else they tried to remedy my clunk when coming to a stop other than greasing the drive shaft.

i didnt put the truck in reverse until that point after my car wash and putting in the diff breather. at the dealer i just put it in drive and drove it home no problem about 20 miles...

I agree, it's under warranty, let Toyota fix it.

If they worked on the brakes, that's the most likely issue since it happened so close to the service.

The reason you want to do some diagnostics is so that you can tell if the dealer did their due diligence in fixing the problem. Its for your own benefit to know as much as possible about the situation before you hand it off.

One time I had a jeep and it developed a random click in the back end. I took it to the dealer that day after the 3rd click, and they said it was probably nothing and they couldn't do anything. Later that day I was driving down the road and my rear diff locked up. Come to find out a fastener or pin or something worked its way out and fell into the gears.

Its just good to know as much as possible so you can verify the work they do and answer any questions they have. Sometimes the smallest piece of information can change the situation. At minimum, I think you should jack up the back end and see if you can spin the tires with transmission in neutral.

Probably the E-brake cable connection came loose inside the drum. They didn't hook it back up correctly and worked loose... make sure when they take the brakes apart you wanna see the inside of the drums and inspect for damage to the drums/e-brake.

Its a safety thing so IF everything doesn't look new you want them to replace the drums and the E-brake parts... after all its not called an emergency brake for nothin.. just sayin.

If it was the transmission ... dash warning truck goes into Limp Mode... if it was the diff, that's a no go anywhere, brakes not working properly = truck will be able to move a little bit.

Unless the OP knows how to work on drum brakes, get some beer and watch the race and tow to dealer. You could tow it today tho and have them un-load the truck and park it right in front of the service door! They will call YOU first thing in the am!

    UPDATE:

so i just went outside and warmed it up and tried to reverse, nothing. tried inching foward as close as i could to the wall in drive. then reverse, made it out of the driveway. made a u turn in my street.. (all going litterally 1 MPH) then put it in reverse to park it in my spot infront of my house and went a few feet and locked again.

ONE THING that stood out without a doubt: with my foot off the brake and idling forward in drive, i heard brake squeak from the rear.... thats not normal! i definitely think they fucked up the drums not reinstalling them correctly or the e brake cable as mentioned above could also be the culprit.

lmao i love that - "You could tow it today tho and have them un-load the truck and park it right in front of the service door! They will call YOU first thing in the am!" :p

    Does not compute....

Need clarification on: sugget + hoss + berries.... and if you could put them all in 1 sentence that'd be great.

I'd just have it towed...wouldn't risk driving it to the dealership.

I had to get my wife's car towed recently...first time I ever had to have it done. They came out within an hour or so and was easier than I imagined.

Insurance and/or AAA will cover it. Or make the dealership cover it, especially if it's due to their work.

OP... I'd just call Toyota Care today and tell them your stranded come pick up this truck TODAY.

That way its faster in and out at the dealership tomorrow.

Jacking up truck and putting truck in drive is dangerous... be careful.

    Edit:
All the wrenching I've done over the years in my driveway... never did that! just sayin..

I had something like this happen to my second gen. Every morning I'd have to rev the shit out of it to get it out of the driveway until it started rolling freely. Got the rear in the air, wheels wouldn't spin in neutral, took wheels off and found out my rear drums are so old and corroded that my e brake would stick every time I applied it.
