I have a base model automatic with the 2.7L but what I want to know is what type of oil do I out in the Diff. lots of choices. The two I would like to use is Castrol 80-90 std. oil or Castrol 75-90 syn. oil. The other thing is do I have to put LSD additves in the oil?

Id go with the syn. And you dont need to add LSD additive if you dont have an LSD...

No LSD = Castrol 75-90 syn. oil
LSD = Castrol 80-90 std. oil & LSD Additive

I really don't know if there is a LSD in the diff. Toyota web said it is a standard part but I am unsure what its got.

Look above the fill bolt, you should have a silver and red sticker that reads "ONLY LSD OIL"

There is 56293 ODO reading but with oversize tires it is actualy closer to 61771.

There is no sticker so it may not have the LSD.

    And yes its a 5-lug.

Block the front wheels. Jack up the truck by the rear axle, both rear tires off the ground, watch out for brake lines, etc. Shifter in neutral, e brake off. Spin a rear wheel by hand. If the wheel on the other side goes the opposite direction, you've got an open. If it tries to go the same way, it won't go much, it is LSD.

4low2go best idea yet, I forgot about that. Time to go find my good jack.

As for the oil if no LSD i can use regular oil if I'm not mistaken(80-90).
