rear diff replace question

    hi
    i have a 02 tacoma with locking rear diff
    just picked up a brand new diff from toyota

    just wondering if the locking diff should be engaged
    befor i remove the off diff?

    Was a PreRunner, now it isn't
    it should be locked before removing the 3rd member

    It doesn't really matter. Locking the diff you're removing will make it less likely you lose parts.
