I have a 2003 2WD Double cab Tacoma that has a locking rear differential that the light will not quit blinking when trying to engage the lock and the diff will not lock. Any ideas why this may be going on?

It could be either a mechanical or an electrical fault.

Start with the electricals - check for loose / shorted wiring and see if the rear differential lock detection switch is working. If the detection switch failed while the locker was engaged the last time, that would explain it.

Last time I went to use my locker the light wouldn't stop blinking... looks like I might take a look at it when I've got it in the heated garage at the FD
