This is an lol for sure. "12TRD" has his profile on lock down so it can't even be viewed(or maybe I'm the only one blocked). All the posts I can find by him on this forum are troll post memes. After some digging I found that he is actually "TRDinOhio" and uses the username "12TRD" to troll the 3rd gen forum. Sees himself as some kind of crusader against people who love their trucks. Sold(or lemoned) his taco and bought a T4R. Post#28 here. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-for-a-te-4runner.476760/page-2#post-14482240

I challenge anyone to find a post where I berated anyone having real problems with their truck. The other thread where I invited H8terz to eat a bag of... Well, if you are a 2nd gen owner on the 3rd gen forum just to troll, then that offer stands.

Here's all the posts I could find made by "TRDinOhio" posing as "12TRD" I really feel sorry for him because it's all negative stuff. Dude, go post positive stuff on the T4R forum. No need for more negativity on here from someone who doesn't own a Taco. https://www.tacomaworld.com/search/3945094/?q=12Trd&t=post&o=date

Is this the first, or second time, this happened? This is very tragic.

its asshole responses like this that make others look like fan boys. Shit like this make folks think you are paid to come in here and

    POS.jpg

    all over the nice

    3rd gen.jpg

if you would get your head out of your ass, and not be so focussed on putting down the truck and others who are happy with their rides, you might see that others understand that there are issues with SOME not all of the 3rd gens. But hey guess what there are issues with SOME of the 2nd gens but not all, hey you know what, there are also SOME issues with all vehicle brands, but not ALL.

Good day to you sir/troll and may you finally see the light.

talk about being a ass hat, @12Trd pulls in folks who were not even in the thread just to put them down. Yet we are the bad guys because we continue to say, sorry your truck has issues, but it's not all of them.

TW is a wealth of knowledge and as long as I am allowed here, I plan to stay. But now feel its time to take a page out of Smitty's book.

the 1st to make my ignore list. 12 Trd.

Edit: even better as I went to ignore, I find he has been Banned! Awesome work MODS.

Squats and lunges should get him some respectable results. Just takes time.

These two are one in the same, (TRDinOhio" posing as "12TRD") I came to that conclusion also when he first started to address me, Its TURDinOhioe (my call lol) no doubt, great work I concur. It's best to ignore him.

Moreover, I have no doubt that some ppl have real problems, all you have to do is have a basic knowledge of statistical data and failure probabilities. You can also do life expectancy checks for almost any part on almost anything made as they are tested before being put on the market.
My comments are only directed at ppl who hear voices on their heads, bash constantly and yet won’t do the right thing and just move on…Let it go, be happy make everyone around you happy and you’ll always have a smile! :)
But some ppl want to drill or make you believe that you have a problem, so they can “sell” you a solution.
Just look at $hitty99 signature, why is he promoting it, what is his real agenda and why does his knight in shining armor (12TURD) always comes in to protect his beloved? Really, I think these guys should just get a room already

    Hope that helps!
    Cheers!

This is VERY interesting but one of the things the techs did when mine failed the first time AND the second time is measure the amount of oil in the diff and both times it was within spec. That being said is the 1% that have failed or could fair all a direct result of low oil? Furthermore they put a new pod in and I would assume that was made after this date? Or is it the differential housing itself that is out of whack?

I'm glad Toyota is addressing this (let's be real, they have no choice because...possible death/injury).

I hope ppl don't see this DIR and think it's a cure for the diff whine.

Edit: The more I read the text, the more I SMH.. So when I go in for the recall, they're gonna look for a leak.. if they find none, they'll torque the carrier bolts down and check again.... Damn, what if this pooches my gasket over time? OK, so if I read that last part of the "Remedy" correctly, the only time they're gonna inspect the carrier itself is if they have to put a new gasket on?! Like, they have to pull the carrier so may as well have a look lol

I wish they would address the early CPS sensor issue that is more dangerous as you won't get a warning like the diff leak, you'll just be left gasping for gas.

But this is not a mechanical part failure or diff noise, but it an embarrassing oh…uh…Moment for Toyota.

It maybe either human error in setting the correct fastener torque values or faulty torque reset of equipment, even though they also seem to be blaming the gasket.

But we’ve been aware of this potential loose fastener and leak for about a year now thanks to the awesome TW community. Old news!

    Cheers!

First off to the OP. Sorry this went sideways and I hope you get your problem solved. I can understand your frustration. I have the 8.75 rear axle and hope it doesn't start howling on me. If it does I hope my dealer will handle it properly.

Hammer, I agree 100%. I try to post positive stuff. No sense in black clouding the forum with negativity. Pretty wild that people get their panties in a twist about people posting positive things but hey, whatever. My old beer brewing forum died due to unchecked trolling so I've seen how damaging it can be.

What's sad is that I admire 12TRDinOhio for selling or dealing with a truck that he felt was inferior and getting something else. He went wrong b/c he just couldn't let it go. Someone else on this forum should nut up or shut up and take his lead and sell out. Move on and stop crapping on a great community of folks who are here b/c they all love the same thing.

Once again, OP, sorry this went south but I was dragged into this thread by someone with an axe to grind.

I lot of us get dragged down the $hitter by trolls with an axe to grind Steve and I try to avoid it but they keep jumping on you so you got to hit back.
I try to be impartial, and put blame were real blame is, there are issues from time to time, it's to be expected like the CPS that's a real issue for me, took care of it and moved on but it's also not wide spread.
Now we have a "real wide spread" issue with the loose diff bolts, and I just took care of mine in like three minutes of my time.

But its all good, great forum, good fun $hitty99 moments or not.

    Cheers!

You fanboy bastard you! *shakes fist*
I avoid douchers for the most part. I put one on ignore awhile back and his lapdog/sycophant as well and the forum is much more enjoyable. I addressed 12TRD cuz he called me out specifically. Looks like his crusade didn't turn out as planned.

    ***UPDATE***
Toyota called Friday and were over the moon excited that they had some "great news". They're going to cover my truck under warranty. No shit! They obviously have no clue why diffs are failing and the oil leak is like a red herring but they need an excuse to look at them. Perhaps a bad batch of ring and pinions? Guaranteed there's more to this than just an oil leak. Mine had the recommended recall performed essentially 2 months ago and it failed again.
