1997 Tacoma 4x4 SR5 added alarm system, remote door locks, LED headlights, brush guard, painted with plasti dip, double din Bluetooth radio. Nothing really fun or important.

My rear differential is low, I don't know if it has synthetic or Regular oil in it. Can I mix the synthetic and regular if I buy what's not in it? I was going to go with Amsoil.

Right real oil seal is leaking. Gonna have to get it fixed.

    Thanks

Change it out or fill it up asap...low oil in the diff will cause it to heat up faster and possibly overheat, which can lead to failure and you don't want that.

You can mix synthetic with non synthetic, you can even mix different weight oils if you want (though it's not recommended). Just don't run it low

I would go with cheap oil until you get the seal fixed. Do a full oil change with your preferred oil after the seal fix.
