Rear differential oil

I have a 06 Tacoma sport 2wd what kind of oil do I need for my rear differential and how many qt?

 

I used 80-90W Synthetic with limited slip additive, because my diff says "LSD" on it.

 

I have a 2010 Sport PreRunner. It has a limited slip differential (LSD). Be sure you put the additive in it. Some gear oil has LSD on the label. You can use that without the additive. Mobil 1 is not recommended. People here on the forum will agree. I think, I used Lucus gear oil. I put the additive myself.

And one more question lol do I fill it up all the way to the fill up plug??

 

I think it was between 2-3 Qrts.
Be sure not to overfill.

Just changed mine after breaking in new gears. Used mobile 1 with the additive. So what's wrong with it?

 

Your's isn't a LSD. You my not have any problems .

 

I put in an air locker along with the gears.

 

I used Mobil1 as well with no ill effects. Some people have had a chaddering effect from using Mobil1.

Looks like I'm changing mine again tommorow. Also found out that ARB recommends non synthetic.
