I can except that. I and a lot of others have had to deal with this exact same issue.

10k miles on my 2020 sr5. I was suppose to hear the whine begin around then. So far very quiet. I'm really disappointed, and becoming depressed.

Are you thinking of having the rear differential replaced

So, is there a TSB to the differential howling of a 2021? I’ve read a lot of the comments. But skipped a lot of them due to the unrelated stuff.
I have TRD OR SB 2WD.

Yea, I hear it also on my '22, but very rarely. Most times the music is too loud ;)

It's a thing though. These are whiney difs.

Doesn't hurt to bring it in, mention it, and ask if they can recreate it to assess it. I had a '21 Subaru Crosstrek that everyone swore up and down on the forums was shifting normally for a CVT, turns out it wasn't and a plastic piece had broke inside the valve body. They serviced (replaced entirely) the valve body and life went on. If it's new and under warranty, use it. They should be willing to address the issue due to that fact alone. I actually just had the gas cap replaced on my taco because it wasn't locking. Most will turn and constantly click, but the tacoma doesn't. Well, I asked when I was there getting my audio done and they looked, told me it was weird and replaced it. Now it clicks once and stays there where before it backed off so much it was just waiting to slip loose and give me a CEL. We can ask questions all day on these forums, but for some noises and issues, it's best to just go with your gut and have someone look at it. If I would have mentioned the gas cap here I already know the answers would have been "it's fine, mine does that too". I know it does, mine was too loose. So your dif could be whining too loud and too frequently. Not a bad idea to have them check it and if they do check the fluid in the process hopefully there is not excess metal. They could always change the fluid and then tell you bring it back in 500 so they can look at it again to make sure. Tons of options here, and the worst advice is to just "drive on" with it. If it's bothering you, get it looked at.

I remember back in 2016 when I got my truck and joined this forum everyone was having this issue. Well not everyone but there were quite a few complaints. I’m surprised to see a 2021 doing it. Would have thought Toyota would have figured this one out by now

its very easy to underfill ANY rear differential

the rear fill hole equals out to be 50% or less

every component is ‘ Splash ‘ lubricated .............pinion / outer axle bearings ( ring gear is a given )

if after a lift the diff is rotated to accomodate universal joint angle

its easy/possible to starve the pinion bearing

if the fluid level runs low ......it is very easy/possible to starve the outer axle bearings ( even normal road mileage )

at trail angles its possible fluid will not be available to ALL components for periods o time

    to mitigate circumstances

i back up ramps raising the rear resulting in added flid capacity

fill to top level of fill hole.......cap & have added lubrication

NO it wont result in Over Fill with fluid being blown out of vent

No it wont blow out outer axle bearing wheel seals

RED LINE makes has the largest assortment of rear differential fluids....................GOOD STUFF !!

Just added toolbox and roof-rack to haul my fishing boat 100's of miles into the backwoods every week. Goodrich K02s, Bilstein 5100 front and back, no lift.
My 2016 TRD OR has 60K miles on it now, 12K of that very hardcore off road in central BC. Lots of rattles and squeaks and the driveshaft vibration, but no noises from the rear diff.

I work at an independent shop, just got a 2018 in our shop with 38,000 miles, and the rear diff needs to come apart, serious noise from the pinion, it is also very loose feeling, will update with pictures if the customer ok's the work.
