Have you done this? Honestly wondering.
I don't see how that is possible. the section I skillfully circled in red is sandwiched between the door panel and door.

His problem is the green cable housing. It's not seated in the bracket.

Also, I believe PS-RagE is talking about removing the door lever (interior). Not the black bracket you circled.

Or just weld them shut and make it into an extended access cab. Rear passengers would just have to get in like the general lee.

chucklefunkk I agree about the green cable not being seated in the bracket, I did however try leaving it not snapped into the bracket and it still pulled the cable to some degree. Perhaps that is how he managed to get the passenger door open by continually trying to open and finally it pulled enough.

With regards removing the door lever (interior), that black bracket is part of it, As far as I could tell when doing my tests both need to come out. :notsure:

Edit. I just watched my video again and you can see what PS-RagE is saying.
It does look like the the lock and handle will separate from the black plastic bracket it attaches to. You can see the pivot points.
OP, This is your best bet to date. if you can manage that then you can get at the green cable to pull it and open the door. Then you can pop the panel off and sort out what needs to be done.

So, this was really driving me to find a solution for you. Unfortunately, I really didn't get there. Reading the recent posts, people are just skipping out reading the pages worth of advice and repeating it, so I new I had to do something different. I took my door apart.
    Yes OP for you!

    2017-05-05_19-06-09.jpg

So, while this picture is pretty descriptive, and you can see the speaker has no possibility of interfering with the door lock mechanism.
You will also notice that the door control cables are crossed, which explains why it is so common for people to put them on the wrong handles.
So my goal here was to see if I can help OP find a way to open the door with out removing his panel. For this I was going to have to remove the entire door latch... video coming.

If the green housing isn't seated in the bracket, actuating the lever moves the entire cable (cable and outer sheathing). The outer sheating has to remain fixed so the lever only actuates the inner cable. Which is why he needs to pull the inner lever past it's given range of motion to open the door from the inside. I'm speaking from experience because I did this exact same thing on my right rear door. Got in a hurry reinstalling and the green housing popped out. Stumped me for a day because I could see the ball-ends seated in the latch.

Precisely. The black lever needs to be displaced. It'll pop out without breaking if you are careful

I thought that you might be able to do that too, unfortunately the trim work around the door handle isn't a separate piece of plastic like older vehicles, it is incorporated into the door panel itself. Having taken apart my entire door I'm convinced that this is going to require removal of the door panel, and like OP said, will cause damage to the panel with the door closed.

It looked like the video was sped up at the beginning when I first watched, on second watch not so much.

The first 20 seconds or so was sped up because this was my initial testing. I'ts back to real time when I show off the latch mechanism and discuss some of it's features. I was trying to make it so the video wasn't that boring.

    Want to know something funny?
So no sooner that I put my truck back together , I have to replace a door latch on my step-daughter's Mazda Millennia
Since that's ridiculous, I took pictures.
