Speakers sound good but will need to install an amp to hear a clear difference

I did the same thing. If it's a rear door I removed all the retention screws and retention pin just like you are going to remove the panel. From inside the truck pull from the top of the panel by the window, straight back and slightly down, it will give you enough room to look and reach behind the panel to connect the cable.
For some reason if the cable isn't connected correctly the door stays in the locked position. No matter if you try to unlock with fob or master controls on drivers door. There must be a spring in there somewhere that keeps tensions on the latch. So if it's not connected to the latch the spring keeps the door locked.

If it's a front door I don't know. On the fronts there are tabs in the top of the panel that hook over the door. So if you try the same thing with the front it either won't work or you will break of the tabs.

Trying to solve same problem here. Clearly the lock cable is not installed properly. It makes clicking sound when I hit the power locks. Door won't open. I think I read this thread through. I love the dedication to ingenuity from you all.

Man, I just read this thread, what a solid group of members we have here. I am sure that there are many other posts that show this, but this was truly impressive, :proposetoast:

Having the same problem. I replaced speakers in all 4 doors + tweeters in dash, and everything works fine except the rear drivers side door. Same scenario as this thread. I found this thread super helpful and will try to fix tonight when I get home from work.

Really cool to see how folks stepped up to help out. Hopefully I can get this fixed easily based on tips in this thread. ;)

I'm here to hang the proverbial head of shame.

Changed out all four door speakers yesterday. I considered myself fairly well read before I even started. Noted the possibility of swapping cables and to watch out for that. I was super cautious there. I checked everything....speaker sound, door locks. door would open and close, etc. I really did. Now this morning, every thing works perfectly except for the driver's side backdoor. Manually locks and locks with key fob however will not open from the inside of truck via latch or outside via latch. Window goes up and down as well, if that matters.

Should I just go straight to the dealer next week or try to keep fooling with it?

Had this problem and rolled the window down and pulled the center of the door panel up and in and that allowed me to get needle nose pliers to set the green cable back in its retainer. Wouldn’t have tried this without this thread so thank you to all.

Just fixed the same issue on mine after putting in new speakers. Was able to pop the door panel off and up enough to see the culprit and pull the wire to get the door open. Then reinstalled everything after putting the cable back in place.
