    Hello. I have a 2018 Tacoma TRD
I broke off the connector for the driver side rear sensor. I ordered a replacement and it came with 6 wires. I only have 3 wires at my harness. Red,Blue,Green
Could someone please help me with the wiring? It's the outer sensor in the bumper end
    Thank you..

I suspect you ordered the pigtail for the BSM (blind spot monitor) which is indeed a six wire connector. It is a much more sophisticated sensor. Meanwhile, the bumper sensor for the backup camera is only a 3 wire.

Best advice I can give you is this.

Go to your local dealership. The parts counter. Bring the broken pigtail, and your senses of patience persistence and humor, with you. They should be able to look it up for you.

This is what I did when I broke a coil connector not too long ago while changing my spark plugs. Chit happens.

They will probably have to order it. But it usually only takes 2-3 days. Also, the replacement will likely come with 3 plain black wires. So pay attention which color wire went in which terminal pin and re-wire it correctly.

    HTH and good luck!

PS: Here's where I also offer some advice that others will consider absolute heresy. Posting about how to make a broken wire repair is like posting about welding. LOL. :)

But get yourself a pack of these crimp and solder waterproof butt end connectors from your local auto parts store. In the right wire gauge. You might need 18-20. Anyway, once you crimp the mating ends, then you apply heat to melt the solder element in the middle to strengthen the overall connection. The solder oozes around the individual wire strands and then of course hardens. I personally like a belt and suspenders approach and then slide a ~2" section of plain black heat shrink tubing over the top, which was pre-installed on either side of the wire - usually whichever that is longest. Heat that up too. Poof, that's a connection that will outlast your truck.

    Anyway, again, GOOD LUCK!!!!
