I just finished re-gearing my rear diff and went for a test drive and noticed my diff was locked. I disconnected all power: no change! I can watch the slider through the fill hole, it moves to the locked position when either wheel moves. Any thoughts?

Just a guess...alignment or indexing issue with the actuator.

agreed that friction or pressure is engaging it.

Probably going to have to pull it and see.
It is my understanding that there is no power to the rear e-locker until it is actuated...am I understanding that correct?
