I have a 2013 TRD Sport that I need to swap out my rear end in. 3rd member is fine, axles good, all i need is the rear end housing itself. ive found a couple 2nd gen, but they are 2wd, and my truck is 4wd. can i use a 2wd rear or does it need to be 4wd? Thanks in advance!

As long as its a 6 lug non e locker axle you are good to go. Are you sure the axles are good, bent housing can mean bent internals.

I am going to go ahead and grab some axles just in case, they are fine, but enough impact to bend the housing can't be good for the internals.

Any machine shop worth anything can put an axle shaft in a lathe between centers, run a dial indicator on it and tell you if it's bent. Takes less than 5 minutes.

Do we have the same axles as first generation Tundras? Heard they were the same, but with different gearing.

If so, that should provide more options.
