    Hi guys,

I recently got the 50,000 mile service done on my Tacoma. I’ve noticed that around 20mph under deceleration there is a noise (similar to the Tin Man after being oiled up by Dorothy https://youtu.be/louBM-Mix7s) and for a split second when letting off the brake to accelerate.

It doesn’t sound like gears grinding or necessarily metal on metal, but definitely some kind of whine.

I’m wondering if maybe the tech got some dirt in the rear drum when they do the multi point inspection and that’s what I’m hearing, or if it’s something bigger like a wheel bearing.

I can’t figure out why else this would have occurred after only getting an oil change and tire rotation done.

Has anyone experienced this whether on the Tacoma or other vehicles?

It’s bearable to drive with, similar to the squeaky leaf springs, but I’m trying to avoid driving for now in the case I need to go back to the Toyota dealer and have them take a look.

    thanks!

Not sure of the year of your truck but there is a TSB that covers about $3000 dollars in free parts .
I suggest trying to have it performed before you go over 60K

Chances are , the dealership will catch the noise when they do the TSB
