I just noticed today that when I took off (cold) the truck made a sound for about 15 seconds that resembled a quiet siren! Almost like a high pitch howl it did it while accelerating up to about 30mph, I let off and it continued.

It seems to be coming from the same side as my leaky axle seal. Is it possible that my axle bearing could be making this noise?

What's strange is I've had what feels like axle wrap for several months, but now that's it's made this noise the movement in the rearend seems to be gone?? Starting to think my R/P or carrier bearing may have been the problem all along and now it's finally on it's way out...thoughts?

Differential is fresh and full with new brakes and resurfaced drums.
The only change lately is, the 18" of fresh snowfall I've been plowing though.
