Just installed sumosprings over the weekend to take care of squat and associated bottoming out while loaded with canopy, platform, bikes, camping gear, etc. So far I've been very impressed - gained almost an inch back and the ride is noticeably better with a little bit of weight in the bed. Install was straight forward - took less than an hour.

Will these work with a u-bolt flip kit?

Not sure of the answer to your question in general, but you might check out this kit which includes a flip kit and the Sumos. Pricey but seems like a nice kit. I don't know if anyone here has installed this kit. Still on the fence myself.

Thanks for that link. Nice set up!

Pricey is right, but for a something that clean and maintenance free. Well worth it.

Flipping the u-bolts on the rear axle not only gives a cleaner look but keeps sticks and rocks from hanging up on all that hardware.

Ah, don't worry about grammar, believe me you're fine. Some of us remember an infamous thread by "ONESHORT".

You answered my noob question...Canopy, canoe, bikes, and tons of camping gear (hopefully an aluminum boat in the future), I was wondering at what weight point will these be affective.

So... these are just massive bump stops with a fairly progressive rate?

Nice!! I have these sitting in my garage waiting for some free time to put them on. Did you take off the wheels for the install? Any pointers on how to install them? Thanks

    Basic overland stuff...
They're excellent. My before numbers in back were 35" and 35.5". After were 35-7/8" and 36.25". Rides like stock especially with the weight I'm carrying.

Install: climb under and loosen one sides u-bolts. Remove the stock bump stop and install the sumo plate. Tighten the u-bolts. Do the other side. Chock the front wheels and take a floor jack and jack up the rear under the hitch. Thread on the sumo bumps. Took all of 15 minutes and never removed the wheels.

No need to take wheels off. Super easy. 45 minutes max. One side at a time. Undue U bolt nuts to bottom of threads, put jack under axle on side your working on, jack up, place axel stand under frame on side your doing, lower jack, slip sumo under U Bolt in space created by removing bump stop. Tighten U bolts in X pattern to 52 ft lbs. repeat other side. Check torque in a week or so.
