Keep on driving...and brag to your friends about how you got rear ended with no damage. This is what having a truck is about

Glad to hear there was no damage. That step looks like something you could hit your shin on.

I had a Ram2500 Cummins once upon a time. Got a hitch and two weeks later got rear ended. Some 17 heay old in his dad's cars. Hitch hit dead center of the license plate. I laughed, he cried. Ive run a hitch on every vehicle ever since.

Thanks man so far I haven't hit my shin on it. This was another reason why I put that beaver step on my truck to add protection.

Give yourself peace of mind, have your local body shop take a peek if you're friends with them. It looks like nothing to me a black sharpie cannot fix on your end.

Go get the truck inspected. All that impact force transferred from the beaver tail into your hitch, and you could easily have bent/damaged hitch mounting hardware.

I was recently rear-ended in a very similar way, but much, much harder. My hitch and mounting hardware took some serious damage.

This. A civic rear ended me once when I had a tundra and a hitch...shoved his hood into his windshield shattering it. Scratched my hitch. Still laughed about it years later

Not sure, it may if your willing to report it. I have a body shop I visited probally five times with a GLI & GTI back in the day that was a magnet for DUMB PEOPLE. So to this day I could stop in and he would check it out for free if need be.

If I report it, it will be in my record or my truck car fax record?

Yes I think so anyway, if no police showed up and you don't report it and they don't report it NO

I got hit hard enough to slide the bumper out of alignment, but not damage it. I loosened the bolts and re-aligned it, and it was fine.

So I called the person who hit me and told her no harm, no foul. It made her day, she was super relieved!

I got rear ended, with no fault of mine, but it still showed up on my record for insurance reasons. Don't contact your insurance unless you need to get repairs done
