Not necessarily a bad thing for me, I work remotely and have ability to wait as long as needed.

I saw something similar at my local dealership waiting to go to the body shop. Given that it was there, I don't believe it was totalled out.

Even if they did, I don't think this would be totalled. That's not really the measure of that.

EMS folks too. Jobs with kids were the worst. 20 years was enough for me. It's a job for the young.

Usually airbags+bent frame will total it. One or the other won't as a rule of thumb.

About 5 years ago my daughter borrowed my truck and ended up with a very minor dent on the top of the tailgate backing up with the gate down. If I had been able to find a white tailgate from a scrapyard at a reasonable price so I could just install it without having to paint it would have been worth getting fixed.

But even then I couldn't find one in any color. Guys in scrap yards told me that it was rare for Tacoma's to get totaled and they rarely got one with usable body panels. I just left it as is. I hardly notice it anymore.

I used Tiger DV. The estimate was done by a guy named Simon. He was pretty good. It cost around $300

    Not totaled.

Haven’t gotten the repair bill yet, as I am taking the advice in this thread and getting it towed to the body shop that is tied to the Toyota dealership.

Will update when I have more info.
