About a dosen people including myself said to do that last week. I hope you have enough time to get everything. They will take storage costs out of your settlement if you delay the process.

Sucks man. I know the feeling. Totaled mine about 3 weeks ago. Good news is Tacoma’s hold their value so you should get something back to build a new one I would hope. And definitely glad you’re ok.

Things are about to move very quickly. I'd take the day off work and go get your belongings and parts.

Thanks for the advice! I'll definitely try to do what I can. Probably gonna have to borrow a work truck so I can pick up the stock wheels from home and swap em.

to have rolled (I'm assuming by scratching and rear axle damage) that thing held up really well. Was it a slow impact?

Did you get hit or cut off, or was it a single-vehicle accident?

    not necessarily.

i hit a bear in my 2010 hyundai accent base model- i paid 9,990 for it in late 2009. new. the bear hit happened in 2011. I had this insurance policy rider that would give me a new vehicle of same model/trim. At that time, the new hyundai accent was about 12k- model chance since 2010. My car was only worth $6000 at that time. The insurance paid to have it fixed and it was not totalled. Cost was $6500 not including my rental for 3 weeks or a month. So it was higher than that. Got it back and it was fine. traded out the car a couple years later getting $6500 for it at the jeep dealer- and they gave me a sweet deal on the new jeep........

Ryan, sorry to see your BBP go down like this since that's the color I have too. While you're getting your wheels off the truck ( including the spare ), snatch the bed cover and your nerf bars too. Don't forget about anything that you may have added to the interior, i.e. Meso stuff, glove box letters, floor mats, KTJo tailgate lock, etc. You can resell those items for something vs taking a total loss. Heck, even the TSS sensor cover you can resell ( even though the faux grill is cracked ).

Glad you're okay for the most part and DO get to the doctor because they can find stuff wrong that you don't even know. Based on what the doc says, you might get chiropractic compensation for years or just a flat cash settlement. Not that I wan't you to be fraudulent, but you can have health issues that linger. I know one person that suffer from chronic headaches now after being rear-ended and the other insurance has to cover those related expenses for the rest of her life which isn't cheap.

Best of luck to you and RIP to a beautiful BBP.

hope you lined up replacement trucks and are ready to do the deal. Grab some tools and drive to the collision yard and get all the stuff off your old truck. Dont worry about replacing small things, stereo, roof rack, tonnau cover that you take off. but if you take wheels be prepared to put wheels back on. It just has to look decent for the salvage yard. All those cars are sold "as is"

Yea me and the other driver both walked away. She hit me when she lost control from the right lane. I was at about 70-75 MPH when it rolled. Basically, truck did it’s job and saved my life. Heres a link to my dash cam video.

Don't do this! It's one thing to swap out wheels. Totally another to start engaging in wholesale stripping of a truck for parts that the value was factored on.

Fair market value is a myth when cars are totaled, he will never be made whole.

Holy crap, man! I saw she was losing it in the right lane just before her car went out of sight behind that tractor trailer (assuming it was that white car). Of course she had to wait to clear that trailer before going across two lanes and taking you out.

Count your blessings brother. You are dang lucky. Dash cam footage was crazy. Happy you got out ok.
