Rear ended yesterday. Probably totaled, huh?

what a fucking accident to walk away from.

 

I was rear-end on 2/11/24. Here is my dash cam video of the wreck, which they deemed me to be 70% at fault due to my lane change.

For some background, I saw the driver who hit me, 20 year old female, coming and taking a double look I realized she was not slowing down. I briefly considered trying to get back in the lane I left, but it was too late so I corrected back into the right lane just before impact. This girl was going way too fast for the situation and conditions, but I don't have a rear camera. She hit me so hard she bent my leaf spring mounts on the right side. Luckily she largely went under the rear of my truck, so the damage could have been much worse.

Let's just say, this has been a learning experience, and I'm much more careful when changing lanes.
