I was on my way to go see a movie with a few friends. Im stopped at a stop light minding my business and I look in my rear view mirror and see a lady white as a ghost running into the back of my truck doing about 40, pushing me into another Tacoma that was in front of me. It's being fixed at Deluca Toyota. Her insurance is covering my damages and damages to the Tacoma in front of me. Good news is nobody got hurt but its sad to see my baby like this.

No he didn't have a hitch I nailed his bumper, I hoped for my hitch to save some damage in a situation like this but it didn't seem to do much.

I think the hitched helped you. The ball sits lower than your bumper which caused your bumper to bend downwards instead of going straight forward and causing a lot more damage to your tailgate and bedside panels at the corners.

Anyway, glad you are okay and it can be fixed. Just make sure you are okay with it before you pick it up from the shop. Check the alignment of the front grill at the lights, hood etc. I can see that something has moved there.
    Good luck.

sucks dude...both times I was rear-ended I had my ball/hitch in my receiver and it stopped any damage from happening to my truck...but it did quite a number on the asshats that hit me :spy:

Btw, how do you like the Goodyear authorities? And what size are they? They look really good on your truck. Thinking about getting them as my next tire in a 31''...

I had the same thing to my 97. The frame where the hitch bolts on had some damage, as well as the back of the cab, where the bed moved forward and dented it. I never had a problem with the frame after the fix, but you should make sure the hitch is good and secure when you get the truck back. Only good thing about this is that no one was hurt. Good luck.

    this.

after all the added up costs of the front and rear bumpers 80% of the time the damages add up to enough to buy front and rear bumper replacements

    They are called Monster Hook.

Most truck shops can order one..or buy one offline.
    They are $140-200.

Alot of money but they are BAD ASS.

I'll post a pic when I'm home of how big it looks on my buddies diesel. Imagine a Taco.
