Looks like the bumper is the only thing that took a hit. Its plastic and meant to fold away like that. As long as the hitch isnt bent, then the frame will be ok.:fingerscrossed:

I should also mention i have a buddy who does body work, been in the field for a minute. Took it by him yesterday he crawled under and immediately said frame job. Has me nervous.

I’d say it needs a frame replacement as Toyota doesn’t recommend any frame repairs. That being said a lot of insurance companies will just total it out. Others may authorize a frame replacement. All depends on the insurance company.

I'll play. I guess it's about $2,500 worth of damage and you got off easy, with no frame damage!

[wild guess, but I feel *good* about it]

edit: sorry, someone said frame damage. In that case they'll chain it to the torture rack and pull it back into spec. I'm upping my estimate to about $10k+ now. I also predict that there's no chance in hell they'll total it.

My 2016 TRD Sport was rear ended and didn't look as bad as yours. The frame was bent, so they totaled it. It was American Family Insurance, they said they don't repair or replace frames. I said thank you, just give me a check for it.

@Zing! if it makes you feel any better, I got rear-ended hard by a Tundra while stopped in rush hour traffic. Replaced the rear bumper, the tow hitch, all the BSM sensors and fancy electronics, and pulled the frame back into spec (it kinked above driver rear wheel well). Total damage was around $15k. They fixed it. Feels as good as new. I try not to think too hard about it... Life goes on.
