ive had good luck with my nissan xterra. 236k miles over 14 years. as long as people dont expect them to be a luxury truck/ suv they are fine. Frontier was 2nd on my list of trucks to get if i couldnt find a tacoma for the price i wanted.

Dang, that is almost the identical situation that happened to me yesterday. Waiting to hear back from the body shop to see if there was any frame damage.

Magically the state farm claim handler was out of the office when i went to call after work. Probably saw my estimate and dipped out!

Im pretty pissed off. Might seek legal assistance in this. The truck will have lost much of its value which is one reason I bought the damn thing.

I rented a frontier to go camping a few years back. It did good offroad until... I hit the smallest jump on accident and the side curtain airbags blew out out haha. The yaw sensor sensed a roll over, but I landed it.

Like I said... LET A PROFESSIONAL BODY SHOP make the determination. And, it looks like you did. Bummer about the frame, but when it's all said and done, she should be as good as new...

Dude I had an 06 frontier and I loved, LOVED that truck. I wanted to buy another a couple months ago when I got the taco but I just couldn't buy another truck that was 13 years newer and looked just like the one I was selling. Sadface.20190810_161653_HDR.jpg

Yeah, in 2015-16, the Frontier looked exactly the same as my '07. Outside and inside. It felt tooooo much the same. Also, I don't think they were making a Pro-4X that year, and I was really in the market for a higher-end 4x4.

    With a severely bad record.
Not to mention the various issues that could/may/probably arise due to replacement that otherwise would not have been an issue.

I trust the Toyota dealership to vet their employees enough for accuracy, even more so in this deal as its a newer truck not a recall frame deal.

Im most worried about if in 10 years i want to trade it for a newer version its no longer worth what an equivalent version without history would be.

Im super salty now so sorry for being blunt. Cooler minds prevail.

So if u get diminished value awarded, they write u a check as well as fixing it? How much are you thinking you lost? Maybe just trade it in right after it is fixed?

Thats an avenue I havent crossed yet.
I will be fighting diminished value as the state farm estimator told the company i will be after DV before i even mentioned it. They still decided to move forward to r&r the frame.

Depending on how the claim handler responds tomorrow will judge how i proceed.

Being the third vehicle in an accident and having to go through this shows a negligence on the at fault party.

Here’s a picture of mine from yesterday I was talking about. I’m definitely keeping an eye on this thread because I’m sure the same things are coming my way smh.

Ugh well see, should hear about the damage tomorrow. Hope you hear what you want from the claim handler tomorrow, seems like the whole process is a pain.

Man, if there is one repair I totally trust any Toyota dealer to be able to do right, it's a frame replacement. They have plenty of experience. Sucks though, good luck.
