Not sure if this is still the case, but back in the 1980s when I was working in Germany, there were actually two different types of licenses for cars, Manual Transmission qualified, and everybody else; the former got you cheaper insurance and MUCH better rental car rates; the latter, well, not so much.

    few things here and there.
I just looked up what a Kia Boi was, and holy shit man lol. What in the world.

If you’re gonna commit a crime, filming yourself doing it just doesn’t seem like the wise thing to do.

I was rear ended 1 week after buying my truck. Sitting in a stop in the turn lane… lucky I put the hitch in, it pushed his steel bumper around it and barely contacted the bumper pad. $1800 repair

Oregon is a free for all. Not surprised the vehicle isn’t registered. Some of the crappiest cars I have ever seen have been in OR.

Maybe, there should be a system check to automatically check registered vehicles and valid insurance ?

some states do have that. however, the other issue is when people don’t properly list the vehicle registered owner on the insurance policy.

one of my favorite job duties is talking to law enforcement and telling them when someone doesn’t have valid insurance. i always suggest not letting them out of the ticket.

This plus they should (in a perfect world) be at fault. Not to mention arrested.

Sorry for being so hardline, my mother was just hit by an uninsured driver (maybe unlicensed, not sure yet) and totalled her pristine almost new CRV plus put her in the hospital for 7 hours. I told her already I want that person's name and address.

I wouldn't bet on any lessons learned. Perhaps you could loan the OP your xenomorph cat. That'll learn her. Those xenomorph cats got some serious hostility issues, serious appetites, and a serious drooling problem. On the bright side, the ones that live in the spaceballs universe got a hell of a singing voice. Sidenote: did anyone notice that the guy who's chest it busted out of is the very same actor from Alien? I checked the credits. Same actor.

Around here it would have been an Altima, 300, or V6 Charger. At least her car was properly fubar'd in the wreck that she couldn't just take off.

I live in Pennsylvania, and driving without insurance results in a suspended license even if you don't cause an accident.
