I replaced the transmission mount a while ago because the OEM was shot, rubber was not attached causing transmission to shake. Doesn’t help I have axle wrap. I replaced it using an Oreilly’s Mount and it did the same thing. Rubber came separated. When I installed the new one it was very hard to align and ended up putting a lot of pressure on the tranny mount. Would a solid transmission mount( rear engine mount) be wise or should I look into fabricating a relocation plate. Transmission sits a little further than where the mount is on the subframe causing a lot of tension on the rubber in the mount.
    Thank you TW

You can't use a solid trans mount unless you also use solid engine mounts - unless you want to break your tailhousing.

Get a proper OEM Mount and install it properly. Or you have something bent out of place if it is putting that much force on the rubber mount.

Definitely makes sense, do you know of anyone running all solid mounts. I bet that feels wonderful......

Thanks for the Reply! Something is out of place, both mounts I have put in have done the same thing, OEM and oreillys. When I slowly hit the brakes I can hear it torquing the subframe member. I will add pictures later. I was really just seeing if it was a common problem. I guess it’s just my special taco problems:frusty:

Was it ever in a wreck?

It is fixable regardless, it could even be as simple as a homemade alignment adapter plate.

might be as simple as loosening motor mounts and allowing the bolts to slide a smidge within the holes.
