Rear facing car seat in access cab!

I hated that a car seat couldn't fit. Ended up buying a new truck that could fit one. Not the sole reason I bought a new one but worth it. Though now my 1 year old son thinks my new truck is his truck

 

FWIW I’ve got that same seat in the back of my ‘06 AC which has maybe even less give to the seat back. I did have to reef on the strap pretty hard to get it tight for side-to-side and front-to-back movement. Took it to our local ambulance service to have their certified car seat tech verify installation and was told that hanging up and down at the connection point is a non issue as long as it doesn’t move more than an inch side to side our forward and back.

 

@gkomo - Thank you for all of the helpful info about your setup! Are you still using the forward facing Diono in the access cab? Any chance you wouldn't mind posting some photos? Wondering about the overhang on the seat. Thank you!
