Rear Glass Shattered For No Reason!

    Happened with a ford bronco , I was gassing it up when the big side window exploded. I thought someone shot it out , it was a super hot day and the ac was on never figured it out.

    My driver-side window on my 17 Tacoma shattered on me while I was driving on the highway in the fast lane. Not possible anything hit it.

    I worked for a tier one auto glass manufacturer. Tempered glass, although surprisingly strong when properly manufactured, can explode randomly for no reason if it is not properly tempered (cooled) after forming. Tempering puts a compressive stress around the perimeter of the glass; if there isn't enough compressive stress then it will randomly explode. We had this issue: side glass was exploding in newly built cars that were sitting on the factory lot. Saying that, good luck proving this to a dealer; they'll say a rock hit it or.....
