What would it take to install the rear power slider from a solid back glass in an AC or DC that has solid glass. Are the models equipped with solid glass still pre-wired to accept the motor and harness?

I don’t believe there is any model of the third gen without a slider. I’ve never seen one.

Unless he had the back glass changed out, it was a 3rd gen. That's why I asked, I hadn't seen one before either. I HATE the rear slider. Hate looking through the bars in the glass. I never have used a rear slider on any of the 4 I've owned before, and would rather have a solid back glass

little confused from your two post, you have a power slider glass and want to change it out to a solid glass?

ive never seen a solid glass either, i would assume you'd have to have some one make it. i dont use the rear slider either and would prefer the clean look of a solid glass too

Yes, I currently have a double cab w power slider, I was initially asking to see if my slider would work in an access cab, because that seems the only model they equipped with a solid back glass. I would be willing to do a swap w someone if I knew the access cab would mate with the power components of mine.

Not sure...Im pretty confident they are same frame design. I may be contacting Safelite and getting a price on a solid back glass installed and just sell mine. Every time I look in the rear view and see those 2 bars, makes me cringe...Adding a camper shell next week, so want as little interference w vision as possible...

Ive been down this rabbit hole... I was looking at 2017s at the end of the year and hated the manual rear window. This is for obvious reasons, but they're also really easy to break into. I inquired about replacement with a solid window and YES, it is available (and comes with the gasket for install, as these should always be changed if possible). Then, the 2018s came out and it seems the power rear window is standard (as is the tow package). So, when I finally committed, I ended up with the 2018 and power rear window and didn't care enough to go through the trouble.

Oh, to add to my notes... I recall they were just under $200 and tinted was common and clear was not. I seem to recall the year range was pretty wide, so likely 3rd Gen is the same as whatever range of 2nd Gen is unchanged.

Yup, but he wants it to be powered like the Tundra. I suppose it could be engineered but it would be more work and cost than what it's worth.
