Rear Headrests removed (09 Access Cab)

Thanks to TW, I finally got motivated enough to remove my rear head rests using this post "Remove Rear Head Rests". For anyone looking at doing this, it's easier than the directions make it seem. I'd say 15 minutes at the most as long as you don't drop any bolts. Thanks everyone!

 

I'm going to have to do this. Those headrests are pointless.

i took them off also in my dc

 

I roll with my headrests out in my DC unless I have passengers in the back. Much easier to do than the Access Cab, I admit, but the point is it helps rear visibility greatly.

Question: What is behind the 'lumbar' area of the rear seat back in the access cab? It's hard--can't be padding. Is it empty space?

Looking for places to mount amateur radio gear.

 

There isn't a lot of empty space, but there is some, I didn't have to take the seat backing all the way off, but I could see down far enough to know there is some hollow area.

 

Hmm didn't know newer models were coming with headrests. My 05 didn't have them when i bought it.
